This group was formed by fans of the fiction and philosophy of Ayn Rand, the author of Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead. Our goal is to provide a forum for sharing ideas, examining literary works by Rand and others, discussing current issues from a philosophical perspective, and interacting with other intellectually motivated individuals.

We are two writers forming a monthly book group that will discuss fiction from the higher end of the literary spectrum. Like most writers, we are obsessed with scene changes, dialogue and great chapter openings. At meetings, we will look at pieces of literary prose fiction (novels and short stories) that have gained critical acclaim for their authors’ skill at creating compelling narrators, structuring plots, and fleshing out engaging characters. My husband is balder now, thanks to my love of classic fiction and my inability to keep quiet about it. In an effort to maintain marital peace (and perhaps to keep a few threads of hair attached to his poor head), I decided to start a book discussion group centered on classic novels.
